Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-30
Local Soundcheck (localsoundcheck.com) helps visitors discover upcoming concerts at independent music venues. Shows may include a YouTube video preview.
Local Soundcheck does not require user accounts. Optional location use and analytics are described below.
Optional location
When you click “Use my location (optional),” your browser may ask for permission to provide your location. Location is used only in your browser to select the nearest covered area within your state (or Washington, DC). The browser may provide precise coordinates, but Local Soundcheck does not store them or transmit them to our servers, analytics services, YouTube, or a location-lookup service. They are used temporarily for this selection, not for continuous tracking.
You can decline permission and continue choosing a state and area manually. You can also change or revoke location permission in your browser’s site settings. Your browser or operating system may use its own location service to determine your position; that process is governed by its provider’s privacy policy.
Weekly Show Guide (currently paused)
If you sign up for our Weekly Show Guide, we collect your email address to send you a free weekly email planner of upcoming shows. Signups use double opt-in: you will receive a confirmation email and are not subscribed until you confirm.
The Weekly Show Guide is delivered by beehiiv, our email service provider, which stores subscriber email addresses on our behalf. See the beehiiv Privacy Policy.
Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all future emails. To have your email address deleted entirely, contact us at info@localsoundcheck.com.
Venue maps
When you open a venue map, your browser loads an embedded Google Map. Google may receive standard browser information and use cookies under its Privacy Policy. Local Soundcheck does not request or send your location to display the venue map.
YouTube
We use the YouTube Data API to find and display video previews. We do not access or collect any data about you from YouTube.
Public YouTube API information used to select and verify previews is refreshed or removed within 30 days. We check the Made-for-Kids status of videos before embedding them and do not embed videos designated Made for Kids.

Analytics
We use Google Analytics to measure site traffic. Google Analytics sets cookies on your browser to record visit activity. You may disable cookies in your browser settings; the site continues to function without them.
We do not sell or rent visitor information. The third-party services described above may receive browser information when you use their features.
